Arrest Report, November 14, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Varice Kevin Richardson, 26, 161 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 10:01 am on a warrant through the Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A deputy located Richardson at a residence on Friendship Alley and advised him of the active warrant. Richardson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Richardson was transferred to another agency.

 

Juvenile Male, 16, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 11:10 am for possession of cocaine and possession of CDS in a drug-free zone.

A deputy was dispatched to a location on Highway 182 in Patterson in reference to a juvenile issue and made contact with the juvenile at that location. The juvenile was transported to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Branch Office for processing. The juvenile was turned over to a guardian pending juvenile proceedings.

 

Mark Joseph Derouen, 34, 1061 Tower Tank Road, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 11:13 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family and angling without a license.

A deputy was advised that a subject who held active warrants for his arrest was in the courtroom. The deputy made contact with Derouen and advised him of the active warrants. Derouen was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $34,624.24.

 

Candice Lee Ross, 33, 1708 East Garner Dr., Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 12:20 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and unauthorized use of a movable.

A deputy was advised that a subject who held an active warrant for her arrest was in the courtroom. The deputy made contact with Ross and advised her of the active warrant. Ross was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and later transferred to another agency.

 

Rebecca Ann Corbett, 43, 2059 Levee Highway, Pierre Part, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 1:02 pm on a warrant through the Morgan City Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A deputy was advised that a subject who held an active warrant for her arrest was at the Drug Court Building. The deputy made contact with Corbett and advised her of the active warrant. Corbett was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Danielle Freeman, 27, 121 Lydia Lane, Charenton, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 11:45 am on a warrant for the charge of simple battery.

A deputy was contacted by Freeman via phone and advised that she desired to turn herself in on the active warrant. The deputy made contact with Freeman when she turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse and arrested her on the warrant.  Freeman was released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.

 

Anthony James Ackman, 37, 11407 Highway 182, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 11:10 am on a warrant for the charges of violation of protective orders, criminal damage to property, and battery-simple.

A deputy was advised that a subject who held an active warrant for her arrest was in the courtroom. The deputy made contact with Ackman and advised him of the active warrant. Ackman was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was later released on a $5,500 bond.

 

Myles A. Guidry, 28, 8011 James Drive, Youngsville, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 1:41 am for disturbing the peace-intoxicated.

A deputy was called to assist another deputy with a subject who was stumbling on Highway 90 near Centerville. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Guidry and began the investigation. Guidry was later transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $1,000.

 

Mong Tuyen-Thi Duval, 34, 406 Wedell Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 1:47 am for theft.

A deputy responded to an address on Arlington Street in Bayou Vista in reference to a subject that refused to pay a cab fare. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Duval and arrested her for theft. She was released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2019.

 

Tahj Tyrese Phillips, 20, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on November 13, 2019, at 8:48 pm for domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property, and domestic abuse child endangerment.

A deputy was investigating an unrelated matter when he made contact with Phillips and was advised by dispatch that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Phillips was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $4,000.

 

 

NARCOTICS DIVISION

Kayla Scott, 25, 207 Mitchell Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 12, 2019, at 4:24 pm on the following charges:

  • Possession of schedule I drugs (marijuana) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule IV drugs (Xanax) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule I drugs (MDMA) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule I drugs (synthetic cannabinoids) with intent to distribute
  • Transactions involving drug proceeds
  • Possession of CDS in the presence of a minor (3 counts)
  • Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Violation of a CDS law, drug-free zone
  • Parish ordinance pit bulls regulated (2 counts)

Detectives with the SMPSO Narcotics Division, SMPSO Patrol Division, SMPSO K9 Division, and members of the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Mitchell Street. While searching the residence, drugs, cash, and a weapon were found. Scott was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Scott was later released on a $50,000 bond.
