Arrest Report, November 15, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 25 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Michael Warren Hickman, 33, 301 Grizzaffi Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 6:28 am for careless operation and driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 90 East near Ricohoc when he observed a vehicle swerving between lanes several times. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Hickman. During the stop, dispatch advised the deputy that Hickman's license was suspended. Hickman was arrested and released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.  

 

Bernard Allen Charles, Jr., 30, 2803 Woodmiter Road, Midland, TX, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 10:02 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery, no seatbelt, and no driver's license.

A booking deputy when Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking from another agency.  Bail has not been set.

 

James Paul Trahan, 49, 101 Estate Drive, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 10:28 am for driving under suspension and when passing on the right is permitted.

A deputy driving on Highway 90 East in Berwick observed a vehicle driving on the shoulder of the road in order to get around congested traffic. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Trahan. During the stop, dispatch advised the deputy that Trahan's license was suspended. Trahan was arrested and released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.  

 

Tayler James Davis, 21, 124 Natalie Lane, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 4:51 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Natalie Lane in reference to Davis, who held an active warrant for his arrest.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Davis and advised him of the warrant.  Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking from another agency.  Bail has not been set.

 

Tessa Michelle Pilgrim, 41, 126 Elaine Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 10:40 pm on warrants through the Morgan City Police on the charges of introduction of contraband into jail, theft by shoplifting, and contempt of court.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Lake Palourde Road in Amelia when he observed a vehicle cross over the solid yellow line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Pilgrim. Through the stop, dispatch advised the deputy that Pilgrim held active warrants for her arrest through the Morgan City Police Department. Pilgrim was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and subsequently transferred to another agency.

 

Steven James Morris, 33, 112 Degravelle Road, Amelia, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 11:13 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of violation of a protective order.

A deputy was dispatched to a complaint at a residence on Percy Street in Amelia. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a complainant who stated that the complainant was having issues with Morris. The deputy made contact with Morris and learned from dispatch that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Morris was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and subsequently released on an $800 bond.

 

David Richard, Jr., 64, 627 12Th Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 15, 2019, at 1:43 am for theft, criminal trespass, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was dispatched to a trespassing complaint at a residence on Locust Street in Franklin. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with another deputy who had detained a subject matching the description given by dispatch who was walking in the area. The complainant stated that he observed Richard stealing items from his carport area. Through the investigation, the missing items were recovered, and dispatch advised the deputies that Richard held an active warrant for his arrest. Richard was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Ben Joseph Box, 30, 221 Darwin Road, Centerville, LA, was arrested on November 14, 2019, at 8:38 pm for hit and run and careless operation w/accident.

A deputy made contact with Box at a residence on Darwin Road regarding a follow-up investigation of a hit and run accident. Box was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Box was released on a $1,250 bond.
