St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Lamonta Lamar Thomas, 23, 130 South Clausen Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2019, at 9:15 am on five warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

• Battery of a police officer
• Criminal damage to property-simple
• Flight from an officer
• Possession of marijuana (2 counts)
• Operating a vehicle without headlamps
• Operating a vehicle without a driver's license
• Theft of goods (3 counts)
• Contributing to the delinquency of juveniles (2 counts)

A booking deputy made contact with Thomas when a bond agent turned him in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Chad Michael Caramouche, 40, 1014 Second Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2019, at 11:17 am on three warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

• Failure to register as a sex offender or child predator
• Failure to pay registration fee
• failure to possess a special sex offender ID card
• criminal neglect of family

Deputies went to a residence on Second Street in reference to a subject holding a warrant. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Caramouche and advised him of the active warrants. Caramouche was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Obregon Yuri Raphael, 52, 948 Trinity Street, Port Arthur, TX, was arrested on November 18, 2019, at 3:06 pm for issuing worthless checks.

A deputy made contact with Raphael through the District Attorney's Office and arrested him on the charge. Raphael was released on a summons to appear on November 8, 2020.

 

Tyrone David Jackson, 36, 602 Trowbridge Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2019, at 3:08 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting.

A deputy made contact with Jackson when he turned himself in on an active warrant for his arrest. Jackson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Russell James Gunner, 46, 1430 Prairie Road Circle, Centerville, LA, was arrested on November 19, 2019, at 8:31 pm for turning movements and signals and driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Verdun Lane in Franklin when he observed a vehicle fail to give a proper signal when making a turn. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Gunner. Through the stop, the deputy learned that Gunner's license was suspended. Gunner was arrested and released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.

 

Ryan C. Edmond, 36, 213 Arch Angel Drive, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on November 19, 2019, at 1:54 am for proper equipment required on vehicles, possession of schedule II drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 90 in Patterson when he observed a vehicle with a busted taillight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Edmond. During the stop, drugs and drug paraphernalia belonging to Edmond were found. Edmond was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Daniel Lee Joseph, 25, 110 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 19, 2019, at 1:16 am on a warrant for domestic abuse battery by strangulation.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Anthony Street in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle without an operable license plate light. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Joseph. During the stop, dispatch advised the deputy that Joseph held an active warrant for his arrest. Joseph was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.
