Arrest Report, December 3, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Brianna Mitchell, 24, 207 Sparrow Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 2, 2019, at 9:34 am for possession of marijuana, improper display license plates, and expired license plate.

A deputy was traveling West on Highway 90 in Patterson when he observed a vehicle pass his patrol unit with a license plate partially obstructed by the license plate frame. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Mitchell. Through the investigation, marijuana was found. Mitchell was arrested and released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.

 

Javonte Hurst, 19, 908 Parkview Drive, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on December 2, 2019, at 9:56 pm for hit and run.

A deputy was dispatched to Highway 182 in Sorrel in reference to a car crash. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a vehicle that had struck an agricultural sugar cane trailer. The driver of the vehicle was not on the scene.  During the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Hurst, did return to the scene.  Hurst was arrested and released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.

 

Davonte Javon Williams, 27, 417 Bowman Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 2, 2019, at 8:59 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Highway 90 East near Patterson when he observed a vehicle turn left onto Church Street in Patterson in front of vehicles causing them to throw on their brakes to avoid a collision. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Williams. Through the stop, dispatch advised the deputy that Williams' license was suspended. Williams was arrested and released on a summons to appear on February 7, 2020.

 

Faustino Javier Valdez, 27, 414906 Timberlark Dr., Houston, TX, was arrested on December 2, 2019, at 11:45 pm for general speed law and possession of schedule III drugs.  

A deputy was dispatched to Highway 90 East near Franklin in reference to a reckless driver. Upon arrival, the deputy observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Valdez. During the stop, drugs belonging to Valdez were found. Valdez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Stacey Lynn Grubb, 39, 1113 Iberia Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 3, 2019, at 12:40 am for theft and on an active warrant through Franklin on the charge of self-mutilation of a prisoner and on a warrant for theft.  

A deputy was conducting a walk-through of a local business in Bayou Vista when he observed a female subject who he knew held an active warrant for her arrest exiting the business and departing in a vehicle. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the subject, identified as Grubb. Grubb was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.
