Arrest Report, December 5, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Hank Landry, 43, 116 Pecan Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 4, 2019, at 11:57 am on five warrants for failure to appear on the charges of failure to register as a sex offender (x3), failure to pay annual fee, and failure to notify change of address.

A deputy was dispatched to the St. Mary Parish Branch Office in Morgan City in reference to a subject who wished to turn himself in for active warrants.  Landry was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Shannah Stanton, 33, 19710 Highway 182, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on December 4, 2019, at 4:43 pm for domestic abuse battery.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway 318 in Four Corners in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a subject who was involved in an altercation with Stanton. Through the investigation, Stanton was developed as the aggressor and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Stanton was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Dejhon Andre Parker, 22, 155 Gum Point Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 4, 2019, at 12:52 pm on a warrant for the charges of disturbing the peace and simple assault.

A deputy was informed by courtroom security that a subject holding an active warrant was in the courtroom. The deputy made contact with Parker and advised him of the active warrant.  Parker was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Alvontray Bryan Louis, 23, 306 South Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 4, 2019, at 6:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of forgery.

Louis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for housing from another agency.  During booking, a deputy learned that Louis held an active warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Louis was booked on the active warrant and incarcerated.  Bail for the charge was set at $2,500.

 

Kalab Charles Wood, 25, 101 3 B's, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on December 5, 2019, at 12:23 am for resisting an officer with force or violence-aggravated (4 counts) and on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of cocaine and creation or operation of clandestine laboratory.

Deputies were traveling on Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista when they observed a vehicle with only one working brake light. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and three passengers, one identified as Wood. During the stop, dispatch advised the deputies that Wood held two active warrants for his arrest. During the arrest, Wood resisted being taken into custody. Wood was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

NARCOTICS DIVISION

Chuck Newsom, 33, 302 Carol Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on December 4, 2019, at 7:23 pm possession of schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jennifer Bond, 30, 302 Carol Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on December 4, 2019, at 7:33 pm possession of schedule I (marijuana) and possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor.

Detectives with the SMPSO Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Carol Street in Bayou Vista. Through the search, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in the residence. Bond was arrested and released on a summons to appear in court. Newsom was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and was later released on a $4,500 bond.
