Arrest Report, December 6, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Kendrick Michael Jones, 27, 3125 Diane Drive, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 5, 2019, at 2:08 pm for theft and possession of marijuana.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business in reference to an employee making fraudulent returns.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that an employee was suspected of committing fraud at the business. Through the investigation, Jones was developed as the suspect and marijuana belonging to Jones was located. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Juvenile male, 14, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on December 5, 2019, at 11:32 pm for ungovernable juvenile, no driver's license, vehicle license required, and switched license plate/stolen license plate.

A deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 90 in Garden City in reference to a possible stranded motorist.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the driver, identified as a juvenile male. Through the stop, the deputy learned that the juvenile had no license and the license plate was for another vehicle. The juvenile was arrested and released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Tanisha Lashan Wilkerson, 44, 1116 Grace Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 5, 2019, at 11:30 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Deputies were traveling on Jupiter Street when they observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at an intersection. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Wilkerson. During the stop, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. Wilkerson was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Kristyn Layne Parker, 27, 1090 Susan Court, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 6, 2019, at 2:38 am for possession of drug paraphernalia and on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

-        Possession of marijuana

-        Possession of drug paraphernalia (x2)

-        Operating a vehicle with an unlit license plate

-        Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled

-        Operating a vehicle not covered by security

Gary James Johnson, 45, 333 Egle Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 6, 2019, at 2:37 am for stop signs and yield signs and driving under suspension.

Deputies were traveling east on Brashear Avenue when they observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at an intersection. The deputies conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Johnson, and a passenger, Parker. Through the stop, dispatch advised that Johnson's license was suspended and that Parker held active warrants for her arrest. The deputies also found that Parker had drug paraphernalia on her person. Johnson was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020. Parker was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.
