St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Anthony Dequinton Gant, 38, 938 East Branch Street, Rayne, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 12:35 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana and resisting an officer by providing false information. Gant was also arrested on the following charges:

• Possession of heroin
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of schedule I drug with intent to distribute (MDMA)
• Possession of schedule II drug with intent to distribute (methamphetamine)
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Resisting arrest or officer
• Possession of a firearm by a felon
• Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of CDS

Deputies were dispatched to a local business in Patterson in reference to drug activity. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with a person who stated that there was a vehicle parked in the parking lot and the occupants were dealing drugs. The deputies made contact with the occupants, one identified as Gant. Through the investigation, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and weapons belonging to Gant were found in the vehicle. Dispatch also advised the deputy that Gant held an active warrant for his arrest. Gant was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Duana M. Billiot, 40, 2126 Becnel Drive, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 4:28 pm for animal complaint.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Becnel Drive in reference to an animal complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated that Billiot's dogs were chasing children. Billiot was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020. Thompson was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $2,000.

 

Darian Keith Hoskins, 40, 20017 Highway 182 West, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 9:44 pm for battery-simple.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Sorrell Road in reference to a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a subject who gave information about a disturbance that had happened earlier. Through the investigation, contact was made with Hoskins at a residence on Highway 182 and he was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $2,500.

 

Shelby Lee, 36, 604 Landry Lane, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 10:06 am on a warrant for domestic abuse child endangerment law.

A deputy was traveling on Highway 182 East when he observed a car cross over the centerline. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Lee. Dispatch advised the deputy that Lee held an active warrant for her arrest. Lee was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $3,500.

 

Yvishia Sherrell Levine, 29, 420 Railroad Avenue, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 6:27 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of criminal neglect of family.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Keller's Lane in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Levine and through the investigation, dispatch advised the deputy that Levine held an active warrant for her arrest. Levine was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail was set at $1,422.

 

Justin Elie Fabre, 32, 4136 Francis Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 6:33 pm on a St. Martin Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Francis Street in reference to locating Fabre, who held an active warrant for his arrest. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Fabre and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  No bail has been set.

 

Harold Allen Sheets, Jr., 36, 511 Everitt Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 8:19 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.

A transportation deputy made contact with Sheets when she transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Sheets was booked and incarcerated.  No bail has been set.

 

Daantre Austin, 26, 126 Bogan Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 9, 2019, at 10:31 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy was dispatched to the SMPSO headquarters in Franklin in reference to a walk-in complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the complainant who stated that her vehicle had been hit in the parking lot of a local business. Through the investigation, the deputy was advised by dispatch that Austin's license was suspended. Austin was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.
