Arrest Report, December 16, 2019

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 109 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Brandon Joseph Lancaster, 25, 5522 Snowden Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA, was arrested on December 13, 2019, at 9:42 am for driving under suspension, speeding, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of attempted theft and access device fraud.

A deputy was stationary on Highway 90 facing east when he observed a vehicle traveling over the posted speed limit. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Lancaster. During the stop, the deputy was advised by dispatch that Lancaster's license was suspended and that he held an active warrant for his arrest. Lancaster was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and later transferred to another agency.

 

Jeremiah Stingley, 27, 200 Kathy Meadles Road, Crowley, LA, was arrested on December 13, 2019, at 3:47 pm for possession of marijuana.

Deputies were traveling on Highway 182 in Baldwin on Highway 90 facing east when he observed a driver of a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and two passengers, one identified as Stingley. During the stop, marijuana was found on Stingley's person. Stingley was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Crystal Todd Billiot, 42, 129 Shannon Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 13, 2019, at 5:08 pm for possession of drug paraphernalia and improper display of license plates.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Lake Palourde Road when he observed a vehicle with no license plate. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Billiot. During the stop, drug paraphernalia was found. Billiot was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Destiny James Landry, 44, 125 Robin's Nest Road, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on December 13, 2019, at 10:49 pm for driving under suspension.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Jupiter Street in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle make a turn without giving a proper signal. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Landry. During the stop, dispatch advised that Landry's license was suspended. Landry was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Frank Antonio Mckenzie, 38, 535 Paula Drive, Thibodaux, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2019, at 12:53 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of theft and resisting an officer by providing false information.

A transportation deputy made contact with Mckenzie when he transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from another agency. Mckenzie was booked on the warrant and incarcerated.  Bail was set at $1,500.

 

Jonathan Ray Sanders, Sr., 39, 204 South Penn Road, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 12:34 pm for possession of schedule I drugs.

A deputy was dispatched to a traffic incident on Cypremort Road and made contact with Sanders. Through the investigation, drugs were found on Sanders' person. Sanders was later transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Preston Darnell Keith Davis, 29, 1512 Louisiana Avenue, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 1:45 am for theft and resisting arrest or officer.

A deputy was dispatched to a local business in Bayou Vista in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with business personnel who stated that Davis had walked out of the business with merchandise for which he had not paid and left in a vehicle with two other persons. Deputies located the vehicle, which fled when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop in Franklin and the deputies made contact with two subjects. Through the investigation, the merchandise was found and Davis was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Davis was released on a $5,000 bond.

 

Amber Brooke Fendley, 34, 512 Crenshaw Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 1:36 am on the following charges:

-        Stop signs and yield signs

-        Driving under suspension

-        Possession of drug paraphernalia

-        Possession of schedule II drugs (2 counts, Adderall)

-        Possession of schedule IV drugs (Xanax)

-        Possession of CDS in a drug-free zone

-        Illegal use of CDS in the presence of a person under 17 years of age

A deputy was patrolling the area of Saturn Road in Bayou Vista when he observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign.  The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Fendley, and a juvenile passenger. Through the investigation, dispatch advised that Fendley's license was suspended. The deputy located pills for which Fendley had no prescription. Fendley was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Elviz Veliz-Gonzalez, 38, 141 Sydney Jo Lane, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2019, at 6:48 pm on an active warrant for battery-simple.

Deputies working a detail made contact with Gonzalez, who held an active warrant for his arrest. Gonzalez was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Gonzalez was later released on an $800 bond.

 

Danason Rhine, Jr., 41, 3718 King Street, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 12:46 pm on an Iberia Parish warrant for issuing worthless checks.

A deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 90 West near Franklin in reference to motorist assistance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Rhine, who held an active warrant for his arrest. Rhine was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and is being held for another agency.

 

Deonte D. Levier, 22, 302 Charlotte Dr., Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 4:02 pm for hit and run and driver must be licensed.

A deputy was dispatched to the area of Highway 90 East in Bayou Vista in reference to a hit and run crash.  Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with a person who stated that she witnessed a vehicle backing out of a parking space and striking another vehicle. Through the investigation, the deputy learned that the vehicle was registered to Levier and subsequently located it at a residence on Charlotte Drive in Patterson. The deputy learned that Levier was the driver of the vehicle. Levier was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.

 

Tyler Paul Ray, 32, 127 Miracle Street, Bourg, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 5:40 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicle, and speeding.

A transportation deputy made contact with Ray when he transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center from another agency. Ray was booked on the warrant, incarcerated, and later released on a $500 bond. 

 

Hugo Flores, 23, 1333 Traffic Street, Bossier City, LA, was arrested on December 15, 2019, at 6:45 pm for disturbing the peace-intoxicated.

A deputy was dispatched to the Siracusa Recreation Center in reference to a male subject urinating by his vehicle in view of children. Upon arrival, deputy made contact with witnesses who stated that Flores had urinated by his vehicle which was parked close to the soccer field. Flores was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Flores was released on a $1,000 bond.
