Bayou Vista Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith announces the arrest of a suspect in an armed robbery in Bayou Vista.

Timothy Paul Francis, 32, 1908 Federal Avenue, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 13, 2019, at 2:49 am for armed robbery w/aggravated weapon.

Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at approximately 8:44 pm, deputies responded to a call in reference to a robbery at a local business In Bayou Vista.

A male subject entered the business with a firearm and demanded cash. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Through the investigation, Timothy Francis of Morgan City was developed as the suspect. A warrant was obtained for his arrest. 

On Saturday morning, December 14, with the assistance of the MCPD, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Leona Street in Morgan City and further investigation led to the possible location of Francis in the Thibodaux area. 

Francis was located a short time later by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office and taken into custody on the active warrant through the SMPSO. 

Francis was subsequently transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.  Bail has been set at $100,000.

Sheriff Blaise Smith would like to commend the Investigations Division of the SMPSO for their hard work and success in this case.
