St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Brice Anthony Jones, 24, 173 Joseph Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 18, 2019, at 12:55 pm for possession of marijuana, sale, distribution, or possession of a legend drug without prescription and driving on roadway laned for traffic.

Deputies were dispatched to a stalled vehicle on Highway 182 near Franklin. While assisting the motorist, another vehicle approached at a high rate of speed and didn't respond to the deputy's directions to stop at first. When the deputy did get the vehicle to stop, he made contact with the driver, Jones. Through the stop, drugs were found. Jones was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Jones was released on a $5,250 bond.

 

Stephen Anthony Boyd, Jr., 31, 650 Russo Street, Berwick, LA, was arrested on December 18, 2019, at 3:24 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A booking deputy made contact with Boyd when he was brought into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on a bond forfeiture. The deputy learned that Boyd held an active warrant and he was booked and incarcerated on the active warrant. No bail has been set.

 

Carlie Carol Adams, 20, 10903 Highway 182, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 18, 2019, at 7:49 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

-        possession of heroin

-        possession of tremadol

-        possession of marijuana

-        possession of drug paraphernalia

-        operating a vehicle without a license.

A deputy went to a residence on Tabb Lane in reference to Adams who held an active warrant for her arrest. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Adams and transported her to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Melvin Thibodeaux, 50, 1423 James Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 18, 2019, at 9:54 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery.

A deputy was dispatched to the area of James Street in reference to a subject lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Thibodeaux, who was lying in the roadway. Through the investigation, dispatch advised that Thibodeaux held an active warrant for his arrest. Thibodeaux was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.

 

Davis Luan Tran, 21, 1617 Barrow Street, Amelia, LA, was arrested on December 18, 2019, at 9:54 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A deputy was patrolling the area of Barrow Street in Amelia when he observed a vehicle with a damaged taillight. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and a passenger, identified as Tran. Through the stop, drugs and drug paraphernalia belonging to Tran were found. Tran was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020.
