St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 27 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Javise Jack, 22, 1158 Highway 83, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 26, 2019, at 3:47 pm on possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and possession of legend drug without a prescription (2 counts).

Jasmiera Sade Jack, 20, 1158 Highway 83, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 26, 2019, at 9:36 am on possession of drug paraphernalia.

Zaharolin Zakeya Byers, 20, 410 Liner Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 26, 2019, at 11:00 am on possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies were dispatched to a location on Highway 83 in the area of Jeanerette in response to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with Jasmeira Jack who was involved in a disturbance. Through the investigation, drug paraphernalia belonging to Jasmiera Jack was found. As the investigation progressed, contact was made with Javise Jack and Byers. Drugs and drug paraphernalia belonging to Javise Jack and Byers were located. Byers was arrested and released on a summons to appear on March 11, 2020. Javise Jack and Jasmeira Jack were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Javise Jack was released on a $4,000 bond. Jasmiera Jack's bail was set at $2,250.

 

Mary Ann Griffin, 51, 1363 Joseph Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on December 26, 2019, at 3:31 pm for disturbing the peace by language.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Joseph Street in reference to a disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with neighbors who described a female subject who had been in a disturbance next door. Through the investigation, deputies located the female, identified as Griffin, and brought her back to the scene where she began to yell and scream profanities. Griffin was arrested and transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $500.

 

Jermaine Walter Brown, 34, 1017 A Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on December 26, 2019, at 7:06 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of disturbing the peace by fighting, distribution of schedule II drugs (crack cocaine), and violation of a CDS law (drug-free zone).

A deputy on patrol in the area of Franklin made contact with Brown, who held active warrants for his arrest. Brown was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
