St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 27 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Cedric Benjamin Gant, 22, 1061 Grace Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2020, at 3:54 pm for theft. Gant was released on a summons to appear on May 18, 2020.

Cassi Vining Rankin, 30, 3004 Allison Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2020, at 6:43 am on an Assumption Parish warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. Rankin was transferred to another agency.

Frederick Brent Fournet, 31, 601 Osage Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2020, at 8:40 pm on the following charges:

• General speeding law
• Turning movements and signals required
• Expired driver's license
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Fournet was released on a summons to appear on May 18, 2020

Curstone Paul Alfred, 44, 298 Eves Street, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2020, at 8:33 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespass. No bail has been set.

Jamiyon Jamaud Bolden, 19, 439 Sorrel Lane, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 6, 2020, at 3:29 am on the following charges:

• Battery on a police officer
• Resisting arrest or officer
• Possession of marijuana-2nd offense
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Possession of firearm-felon
• Possession of firearm in the presence of CDS
• Possession of schedule II drugs
• Introduction of contraband-penal institution

No bail has been set.
