St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 126 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Bernard Hanes Davis, Jr., 22, 230 Easy Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 6:53 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace by fighting. Davis was released on a $413 bond.

Edwin Elliott Lewis, Jr., 36, 125 Burrell Court, Gray, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 10:49 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $5,873.63.

Kimberly R. Ruiz, 34, 1017 Delmar Avenue, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 2:04 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of vicious animals. Ruiz was released on a $100 bond.

Dustin Paul Fitch, 32, 188 Shady Grove, Patterson, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 1:38 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal trespassing, simple burglary, and possession of marijuana.  No bail has been set.

Connie Ranea Nolan, 49, 807 Leona Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 2:26 pm on a warrant for the charge of issuing worthless checks. Nolan was released on a $750 bond.

Jarvis Jerrold Davis, 38, 308 Teche Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 8:50 am on a warrant for the charge of simple battery. Davis was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Justin Omar Singleton, 22, 1008 Irish Bend Road, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 8:10 am for possession of marijuana. Singleton was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Raymond Terry Chapman, 39, 316 Elm Street, Centerville, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 5:46 pm for driving under suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled.  Bail was set at $4,000.

April Michelle Pontiff, 40, 9365 Highway 182, Centerville, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 6:47 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. No bail has been set.

Dennis Henry Vining, 54, 415 Hunting Road, Ricohoc, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 9:41 pm for driving under suspension. Vining was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Lorrie Jean Verret, 39, 71 Lee Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 10:12 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

-        possession of methamphetamine

-        possession/distribution/sale of legend drug without a prescription

-        illegal use, consumption, possession, or distribution of a CDS in presence of persons under 17

-        possession of drug paraphernalia.

No bail has been set.

Lavontre Jerome Johnson, 21, 4334 Clark Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 1:12 am on the following charges:

-        possession of marijuana

-        possession of CDS in a drug-free zone

-        illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

-        illegal carrying of weapons in a drug-free zone

-        illegal possession of stolen firearms

No bail has been set.

Kelly Sue Richard, 40, 125 Cross Larue, Pierre Part, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 11:28 pm on a warrant for theft. Richard was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Brittany Rivere Weaks, 26, 166 Linest Drive, Houma, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 9:13 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal damage to property-simple. Weaks was released on a $5,000 bond.

Quinton Jones, 29, 117 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 10:28 am for no seat belt, distribution of cocaine, resisting arrest or officer, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. No bail has been set.

Paulette Gaskins Lewis, 51, 117 West Syls Lane, Amelia, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2020, at 11:31 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. Lewis was later released on her own recognizance.

Benny Druilhet, Jr., 44, 216 Main Street, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 1:31 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled and speeding. Druilhet was later released on personal surety.

Jeffrey Noe Carbajal, 22, 1202 Spruce Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 7:46 pm for no driver's license, driving while intoxicated, reckless operation no accident, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

-        hit and run driving

-        failure to report an accident and/or provide proper ID

-        careless operation of a motor vehicle

-        operating a vehicle without a driver's license.

Carbajal was released on a $5,500 bond.

Queintin Lavon Matthews, 34, 904 Monnot Street, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 8:07 pm for no driver's license, no insurance, no taillights, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. No bail has been set.

Kevin Ina, 19, 1500 Norman Bauer, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 22, 2020, at 6:04 pm for battery-second degree. Ina was released on a $1,500 bond.

Rojae Romone Marcel, 22, 8300 Canyon Street, Houston, TX, was arrested on February 23, 2020, at 9:29 am for driving on right side of road-exceptions and possession of marijuana. Marcel was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Jeffrey Louis Mayon, 56, 3226 Mayon Lane, Amelia, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2020, at 12:06 pm for driving under suspension and general speed law. Mayon was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Lacy Gunner, 29, 708 Cleveland Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2020, at 3:58 pm for no insurance. Gunner was released on a summons to appear on May 8, 2020.

Bobby D'angelo Jackson, 32, 124 Welch Road, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2020, at 5:27 pm for domestic abuse battery and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $5,000.

Aris Michael Granger, 33, 1222 Joseph Street, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 24, 2020, at 2:37 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $13,338.49.

 

NARCOTICS/K9 DIVISION

Travis Morin, 36, 425 Tiffany Street, Patterson, LA, was arrested on February 21, 2020, at 11:47 am on the following charges:

-        obedience to police officers, weights, and standards and traffic signs

-        possession of schedule I (heroin/fentanyl)

-        possession of schedule I (marijuana)

-        possession of drug paraphernalia

-        driving under suspension

A K9 deputy was patrolling the area of Berwick when he observed a vehicle make a left turn onto Highway 90 from Thurguson Road where there is a no-left turn sign posted. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Morin. Dispatch advised that Morin's driver's license was suspended.

During the investigation, K9 Buddy was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff and showed a positive odor response on the vehicle. Drugs (marijuana and "gray death" heroin) and drug paraphernalia were subsequently found in the vehicle. Morin was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
