Arrest Report- May 1, 2020

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:


Jeremy Earl Gamble, 22, 159 Elaine Street, Bayou L'ourse, LA, was arrested on April 30, 2020, at 10:53 pm on the following charges:

  • Failure to signal
  • Driving under suspension
  • Possession of methamphetamines
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Gamble was also arrested on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of illegal possession of stolen things and operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled, and speeding. No bail has been set.

 

Cole Fruge, 28, 1302 Saturn Road, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on April 30, 2020, at 4:40 pm for possession of firearm-felon and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instruments. Bond was set at $10,000.


Marshall Dwayne Bell, Jr., 42, 810 Fletcher Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on April 30, 2020, at 7:25 pm for domestic abuse battery by strangulation-child endangerment law, possession of marijuana, and possession of schedule I drugs. Bail was set at $10,000.

Hodges Ferdinand Matthews, 41, 178 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2020, at 12:35 am for failure to signal, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Matthews was released on a summons to appear on June 27, 2020.


Kevin Jacob Tacy, 27, 271 Grandwood Dr., Morgan City, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2020, at 2:45 am for domestic abuse battery. Tacy was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Nelson Lee Charles, Jr., 26, 127 Jones Road #2, Four Corners, LA, was arrested on May 1, 2020, at 3:30 am on the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • Possession of Schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute
  • Possession of schedule I (marijuana)
  • Transactions involving drug proceeds


A deputy patrolling LA 318 near Inez street conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper lane use. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Charles. During the stop, the deputy observed drugs in the vehicle. Through the investigation, drugs and cash were located. Charles was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and later released on a $10,000 bond.
