St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 134 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Anthony Joseph Beard, 44, 105 Mae Drive, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 5, 2020, at 5:10 pm for disturbing the peace by language. Beard was released on a summons to appear on December 11, 2020.   

 

Juvenile female, 17, Patterson, LA, was arrested on September 6, 2020, at 8:40 pm for ungovernable juvenile. The juvenile female was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Scorpio Ledan Lemon, 37, 514 Frederick Lane, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on September 7, 2020, at 3:04 pm on three warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

• Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled
• Improper turn and/or failure to give required signal
• Criminal mischief
• Disturbing the peace by fighting

Bail has not been set.

 

 

Rondon Charles Caesar, 44, 448 North Branch Street, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on September 8, 2020, at 11:22 pm on the following charges:

• Driving while intoxicated- 2nd offense
• Possession of marijuana
• lane usage
• Driving under suspension

Caesar was released on an $8,250 bond.

 

Ponisha Thomas, 34, 308 Easy Street, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 8, 2020, at 11:27 pm for possession of marijuana. Thomas was released on a summons to appear on December 11, 2020.   

 

NARCOTICS/K9 SECTION

Joshua M. Verdun, 32, 238 Picket Lane, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 5, 2020, at 2:42 pm on the following charges:

• Speeding
• Possession of schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Transactions involving drug proceeds

 

A deputy patrolling the area of Irish Bend Road conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling over the posted speed limit and made contact with the driver, Verdun, and a passenger. Through the investigation, K9 Jace was deployed to conduct an open-air sniff of the area around the vehicle and showed an odor response. Subsequently, drugs, drug paraphernalia, and cash were located. Verdun was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Verdun was later released on a $7,500 bond.

 

 

Kentrell A. Gabriel, 23, 624 Henkle Street, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on September 6, 2020, at 2:09 pm on the following charges:

• Improper lane usage
• Aggravated flight from an officer
• Resisting arrest

Gabriel was later released on a $6,000 bond.

 

 

Tristan Guidry, 19, 3977 Grand Caillou Road, Houma, LA, was arrested on September 8, 2020, at 5:12 am on the following charges:

• Red light violation
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
• Possession of codeine with intent to distribute
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS
• Transactions involving proceeds from CDS activity

 

Percy Aceituno, 23, 8821 Summer Creek Drive, Spring, TX, LA, was arrested on September 8, 2020, at 5:12 am on the following charges:

• Possession of codeine with intent to distribute
• Possession of cocaine
• Possession of marijuana

A K9 deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a red light on Highway 90 Eastbound at Thorguson Road in Berwick and made contact with the driver, Guidry, and a passenger, Aceituno. Through the investigation, a weapon, cash, and drugs were located. Guidry and Aceituno were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. No bail has been set.
