St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 25 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Brittany Renee Kirt, 31, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2021, at 9:42 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle without properly lit lamps for conditions. Kirt was released on a summons to appear on May 24, 2021.
Reginald James Foster, 50, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2021, at 7:07 pm for obstruction public passage, turning movements and required signals, and driving on roadway laned for traffic. Foster was released on a summons to appear on May 24, 2021.
Juvenile male, 17, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2021, at 9:59 pm on the following charges:
- General speed law
- Driving on roadway laned for traffic
- No license plate light
- Turning movements and signals required
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
The juvenile male was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Carlin David Stelly, 43, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2021, at 1:26 am for driving under suspension, possession of methamphetamines, and possession of drug paraphernalia. No bail has been set.
Tina Michelle Berrios, 46, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on February 3, 2021, at 1:41 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of forgery, monetary instrument abuse, and theft of less than $1,000. No bail has been set.
NARCOTICS SECTION
Anthony Ray Variet, 33, Patterson, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2021, at 7:33 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of CDS in a drug-free zone
- Possession of CDS in the presence of persons under 17
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Transactions involving proceeds
No bail has been set.
Frank Clyde Small, Jr., 40, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2021, at 9:37 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule II drugs
- Possession of schedule I drugs
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Driving under suspension
- Improper lane usage
- Transactions involving proceeds
- Improper display license plates
- Second or subsequent offense
Small was released on a $12,000 bond.
