St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 24 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Deandre Weber, 34, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on March 22, 2021, at 11:49 p.m. for improper lane usage, flight from an officer, possession of marijuana, and open container. Weber was released on a summons to appear in court on June 28th, 2021.

 

Dezzie Booty, 41, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on March 22, 2021, at 6:39 p.m. on the following charges:

• Introducing or possessing contraband into a municipal or parish prison or jail
• Possession/distribution/sale of legend drug without prescription

Bail has been set at $1,700.

 

K9 SECTION

Keora Clay, 23, Houma, LA, was arrested on March 22, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. for inward outward view (window tint), possession of marijuana, and prohibited acts- drug paraphernalia.

A K9 deputy was stationary facing eastbound traffic on Highway 90, near the median of Highway 182 Junction, when he observed a vehicle with extremely dark window tint traveling in the left lane. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Clay.

The deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. K9 Doerak was subsequently deployed to conduct an open-air sniff around the exterior of the vehicle and showed a positive odor response. During the investigation, marijuana was located.

Clay was released on a summons to appear in court on June 28th, 2021.
