St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to complaints and reports the following arrests:

Ja'Quan Montaque Verrett, 22, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2021, at 11:09 am for disturbing the peace by language. Verrett was released on a summons to appear on December 1, 2021.

 

Courtney D'Juan Dupas, 38, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2021, at 2:02 pm on the following charges:

• Improper lane usage
• Possession of heroin with intent to distribute
• Possession of schedule IV drugs
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Driving under suspension

Bail has not been set.

 

Daniel Key Jr., 20, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2021, at 3:59 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of illegal possession of stolen firearm. Bail was set at $6,000.

 

Edwin Elliot Lewis Jr., 37, Gray, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2021, at 8:26 pm for general speed law and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lewis was released on a summons to appear on December 1, 2021.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Kearsten Richard, 22, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 30, 2021, at 10:33 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

• Principal to possession alprazolam with intent to distribute
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Illegal use, consumption, possession of distribution of CDS in presence of persons under 17 years of age
• Violation of uniform CDS law in a drug-free zone

Richard also held two active MCPD warrants for the charges of criminal damage to property, reckless operation with accident, and hit and run.

Bail has not been set on the SMPSO warrants.
