St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 43 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Kenneth Lee Benoit, 40, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on October 28, 2021, at 3:58 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of amphetamine/destroamphetamine, attempted possession of carrying concealed weapon by convicted felon, and criminal neglect of family. Bail has not been set.

Abel Keller Garza Jr., 32, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on October 28, 2021, at 9:45 pm on the following charges:

• Brake lights required
• Possession of marijuana
•  Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Driver must be licensed

Garza was released on a summons to appear on January 4, 2022.
