St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Tyler Joseph Smith, 20, Chauvin, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2021, at 11:44 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of speeding, as well as a complaint warrant for the charges of battery of a dating partner, cruelty to a juvenile, entry on or remaining in places or on land after being forbidden. Bail has not been set.

 

Merton Tilton Thompson Jr., 64, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2021, at 9:55 am on a warrant for inciting prostitution. Bail has not been set.

 

Shannon Michelle Zeringue, 46, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2021, at 8:45 pm for theft and resisting an officer by giving false information. Zeringue was released on a summons to appear on February 3, 2022.

 

Kanish K. Rener, 21, Houma, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2021, at 8:58 pm on the following charges:

• Maximum speed limit
• No insurance
• No driver's license
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Rener was released on a summons to appear on February 3, 2022.

 

Jason Daniel Smith, 38, Franklin, LA, was arrested on November 18, 2021, at 12:08 pm on a warrant for the charge of domestic abuse child endangerment law. Bail was set at $7,500.
