Arrest Report- February 18, 2022

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Kaemon Toi Bush, 19, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on February 17, 2022, at 4:43 pm on the charges of principal to attempted first-degree murder, principal to second-degree kidnapping, and obstruction of justice. Bail has been set at $325,000.


Cassandra Hopkins, 46, Lafayette, LA, on February 17, 2022, at 7:48 pm on the charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder, obstruction of justice, accessory after the fact to second-degree kidnapping. Bail was set at $145,000.


Mahmoud Adel Waly, 42, Glen Cove, NY, was arrested on February 17, 2022, at 4:25 pm on the following charges:

  • Possession of schedule III drugs
  • Possession of schedule I drugs
  • Possession of legend drug without prescription
  • Resisting an officer by giving false information

Bail has not been set.

 

Bryceson Lamar Freeman, 23, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 18, 2022, at 9:12 pm for reckless operation and driving under suspension. Freeman also held two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • hunting without resident license
  • hunting with unplugged gun or silencer
  • hunting on DMAP without permission
  • possession of marijuana
  • improper turn and/or failure to give a required signal

Bail has not been set.


Mikelyn Kaye Antoine, 24, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on February 18, 2022, at 9:18 pm for possession of marijuana and possession of schedule IV drugs. Bail has not been set.

 

Melvin Matthews Jr., 20, Houma, LA, was arrested on February 18, 2022, at 11:01 pm for reckless operation-no accident. Matthews was released on a summons to appear on May 10, 2022.
