St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 26 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Paul Milton Ibert, 60, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2022, at 10:52 am for disturbing the peace by fighting and criminal damage to property. Ibert was released on a summons to appear on May 10, 2022.

 

Amy Brooke Picard, 23, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2022, at 10:52 am for disturbing the peace by fighting. Picard was released on a summons to appear on May 10, 2022.

 

Melvin Jackson, 50, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2022, at 4:18 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Bail has not been set.

 

Alysha Maxine Carlton, 32, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2022, at 5:20 pm on four warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Theft of less than $1,000
  • Possession of a schedule II CDS (methamphetamine), 2 counts
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of schedule III CDS (subutex)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of schedule II CDS (hydrocodone)

Bail has not been set.

 

Landon Aaron Rodriguez, 41, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 23, 2022, at 8:24 pm for theft and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of suboxone with intent to distribute and possession/sale of legend drug without prescription. Bail has not been set.

 

Stephen Michael Fournier, 32, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 24, 2022, at 12:07 am for emanation of excessive sound or noise, driving while intoxicated-2nd offense, and no insurance. Bail was set at $5,750.

Donald Joseph Sanders III, 41, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 24, 2022, at 9:42 am for theft-between $1,000 and $5,000.


On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, a detective responded to a complaint of theft at West St. Mary High School. An investigation was opened, and Sanders was developed as the suspect in a theft of money at the school.

Detectives obtained a warrant for Sanders' arrest and made contact with him on Thursday morning. He was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Sanders was released on a $1,500 bond.


NARCOTICS SECTION

Hector Ruiz-Santos, 40, Patterson, LA, on February 23, 2022, at 4:33 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana) and possession of legend drug without prescription (gabapentin). Santos was released on a summons to appear on May 10, 2022.


Calvin Joseph, 32, Franklin, LA, on February 23, 2022, at 8:07 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana). Joseph was released on a summons to appear on May 10, 2022.
