St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Marcus Damond Austin, 37, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 26, 2022, at 8:44 am for battery-second degree. Austin continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

 

Kelvin Anderson Matthews, 31, Abbeville, LA, was arrested on July 26, 2022, at 1:53 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with no driver's license. Matthews was released on $5,000.

 

Chasity Fontenot Gahn, 43, Patterson, LA, was arrested on July 26, 2022, at 3:23 pm for domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Tyrone Len Freeman, 53, Franklin, LA, was arrested on July 26, 2022, at 6:52 pm for theft, entry/remaining on premises after being forbidden, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of theft and criminal trespassing. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Aketa Raquel Francis, 29, Berwick, LA, was arrested on July 27, 2022, at 3:56 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $2,988.

 

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
