St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jeremiah Thomas Singleton, 20, Amelia, LA, was arrested on August 16, 2022, at 7:45 pm on a warrant for violation of protective orders. Singleton was released on a $2,500 bond.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Michael Sweetser Jr., 39, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on August 16, 2022, at 4:24 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of schedule II (methamphetamine). Bail was set at $5,000.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
