St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 91   complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

John Washington, 66, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on August 27, 2022, at 5:10 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of schedule I CDS (marijuana) with intent to distribute and distribution of schedule I CDS (marijuana). Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Marquis Devonte Givens, 24, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on August 26, 2022, at 9:32 am on a Lafayette Parish warrant on the charges of attempted 1st-degree murder and criminal damage to property. Givens was transferred to another agency.

 

Willie James Hayes Jr., 42, Patterson, LA, was arrested on August 28, 2022, at 12:40 am for criminal damage to property-simple. Hayes was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Christopher John Absher, 37, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on August 28, 2022, at 9:53 pm for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and domestic abuse child endangerment. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Christopher Wayne Reaves, 52, Paradis, LA, was arrested on August 26, 2022, at 1:08 am for possession of schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearm in presence of CDS. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
