Arrest Report- September 15, 2022

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 40  complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Nathel Burnell Lewis, 40, Patterson, LA, was arrested on September 14, 2022, at 2:54 pm for obscenity.

Shortly after noon on Sunday, September 11, 2022, the Patrol Division of the SMPSO received a complaint of a male in a vehicle at a local business in Bayou Vista, committing a lewd act in the view of others. Through the ensuing investigation of the incident, the subject was identified as Lewis.

On Tuesday, September 13, deputies working the investigation continued to gather evidence, spoke to additional witnesses, and obtained a warrant. At approximately 6:30 pm, deputies made contact with Lewis, placed him under arrest, and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

On Wednesday, September 14, a second victim came forward with information of a separate incident in which Lewis was committing a lewd act in the view of others at a different location. Detectives obtained a second warrant and charged Lewis with a second count of obscenity.

Lewis continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

 

Clara Michelle Drexler, 40, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on September 14, 2022, at 6:24 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:

  • Improper turn and/or failure to give required signal
  • Operating a motor vehicle not covered by security
  • Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Operating a vehicle without proper equipment

Bail was set at $4,000.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
