Arrest Report- September 21, 2022
St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 31 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile Male, 16, Patterson, LA, was arrested at 1:45 pm on September 20, 2022, for criminal mischief-false report.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers advise that Patterson High School was put on a cautionary status at approximately 11 am on Tuesday, September 20, due to a potential threat being made by a juvenile.
SROs investigated the incident in conjunction with the administration of Patterson High School in order to ensure the safety of students and teachers and to substantiate that no student was armed.
As a result of the investigation, a juvenile male was identified and arrested on the charge of criminal mischief.
The juvenile male was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Naomi Sue Carter, 39, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 20, 2022, at 5:24 pm for battery-simple and assault-aggravated.
On September 20, 2022, a deputy was dispatched to SMPSO headquarters in reference to a battery that had taken place at a local school earlier in the day.
The deputy spoke with juveniles who stated that a female, identified as Carter, had confronted them at school in the parking lot as they were leaving. According to the juveniles, Carter grabbed one of the juveniles by the arm and eventually got a baseball bat from her vehicle and threatened to hit them with it.
The deputy also spoke to a school employee, who stated that he stepped in between the juveniles and Carter in order to keep them from being hit.
Subsequently, the deputy made contact with Carter at her residence. Carter was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $6,000.
Anthony Butler, 58, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 21, 2022, at 10:06 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of battery-simple. Bail has not been set at this time.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
