St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 48 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Juvenile Male, 17, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 26, 2022, at 2:06 pm for illegal possession of a weapon on school property. The juvenile male was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Shelton Dextravian Phillips, 26, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on September 26, 2022, at 2:36 pm for registration of sex offenders. Phillips was transferred to another jurisdiction.

 

Jordan Creppel, 31, Galliano, LA, was arrested on September 26, 2022, at 3:45 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Leonard Rhine, 39, Houma, LA, was arrested on September 26, 2022, at 5:06 am on the following charges:

• Speeding
• Expired license plate
• Possession of schedule I (marijuana)
• Possession of schedule I (MDMA)
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Shawn Mallet, 47, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 26, 2022, at 2:19 pm for window tint, possession of schedule II (crack cocaine) with intent to distribute, and possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
