St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 21 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Javon Kendrick Richard, 31, Cade, LA, was arrested on November 21, 2022, at 8:00 am for possession of methamphetamines, possession of firearm in presence of CDS, and possession of marijuana. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

David Paul Loston, 60, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on November 21, 2022, at 11:27 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Kala Troy Franklin Jr., 22, St. Martinville, LA, was arrested on November 21, 2022, at 2:10 pm for the following charges:

• Speeding
• No turn signal
• No driver's license
• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Illegal possession of a stolen firearm

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Niki Presley Neal, 22, Patterson, LA, was arrested on November 21, 2022, at 2:52 pm for possession of schedule I (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and on a warrant for possession of schedule II (methamphetamine).

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
