On Sunday, November 27, 2020, at 6:40 pm, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Southwest Road in Bayou Vista.

Upon arrival at the residence, two individuals were discovered. One was deceased, and the other was injured.

The deceased person was later identified as Heather Dupre, 28, of Bayou Vista. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

The injured person was Skilan Gros, 35, of Bayou Vista. Gros was transported by helicopter to a medical facility.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
