St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 23 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Travis Lomart Layne Jr., 36, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2022, at 3:02 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

Caden P. Gonzales, 19, Patterson, LA, was arrested on December 14, 2022, at 10:08 pm for reckless operation with accident. Gonzales was released on a $500 bond.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
