St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 79 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Juvenile Female, 17, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 25, 2023, at 3:01 pm on the following charges:

• Speeding
• Careless operation
• Resisting an officer by flight
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

The juvenile female was released into the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

Shana Sherice Jones, 36, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 24, 2023, at 5:53 pm for interference with a law enforcement investigation and resisting arrest or officer. Jones was released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Kaelin Brikel Broussard, 21, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 24, 2023, at 4:27 pm on a warrant for armed robbery aggravated with weapon. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Damien Aurelius Hale, 33, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 25, 2023, at 12:09 for resisting arrest or officer, disturbing the peace intoxicated, and battery on a police officer. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Corey James Hilliard, 35, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 25, 2023, at 10:41 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace. Hilliard was released on a $368 fine.

 

Jessica Lynn Deshotels, 41, Opelousas, LA, was arrested on February 26, 2023, at 12:06 pm for theft. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
