St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 28 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Gabriel Goulart, 39, Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 1, 2023, at 11:20 am for burglary-simple. Bail has not been set at this time.

Melvin Jay Brown Jr., 43, Patterson, LA, was arrested on March 2, 2023, at 12:13 am for reckless operation no accident, aggravated flight from an officer, and resisting arrest or officer. Bail was set at $103,500.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
