St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 33 complaints and reports the following arrests:

NARCOTICS SECTION

Jaquan Verrett, 24, Franklin, LA, was arrested on March 30, 2023, at 1:32 pm on the following charges:

• Careless operation of a motor vehicle
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS
• Possession of firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies
• Transactions involving drug proceeds
• Violation of protective orders

Bail has not been set at this time.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
