St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 90 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Gene Barry Butts, 35, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on April 1, 2023, at 4:52 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Zackery Dane Johnson, 37, Gibson, LA, was arrested on April 2, 2023, at 2:12 pm on the following charges:

• Possession of schedule III drugs (2 counts)
• Possession of schedule I drugs
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Resisting arrest or officer
• Bail has not been set at this time.

Johnson also held two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of theft, possession of schedule II CDS, and possession of marijuana. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Ron Delone Leonard, 41, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on April 2, 2023, at 6:14 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. Bail has been set at $24,730.86.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
