St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 34 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Ben Patrick Louviere, 44, Franklin, LA, was arrested on June 6, 2023, at 2:20 pm on an MCPD warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace-intoxicated. Louviere is being held for another agency.

 

James Vincent Howell II, 18, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on June 6, 2023, at 11:04 pm for burglary-simple and possession of stolen things.

Detectives were working on a vehicle burglary case that occurred on June 5, 2023, in the Bayou Vista area when they obtained evidence that led to obtaining a search warrant for Howell's residence. Upon executing the search warrant, stolen property was located.

As the investigation progressed, Howell was linked to other burglaries in the Patterson area as well. Howell was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bail has been set at $205,000.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
