St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 104 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Courtland Jermaine Phillips, 23, Centerville, LA, was arrested on August 12, 2023, at 11:24 pm on an indictment warrant for 2nd-degree murder. Bail was set at 1,000,000.  

Michael Brandon Cocke, 34, Charenton, LA, was arrested on August 12, 2023, at 8:57 pm on an indictment warrant for failure to appear on the charge of 1st-degree rape (5 counts). Bail was set at $750,000.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
