St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 152 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Wade Nathan White, 30, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 1, 2023, at 12:42 pm for battery of a correctional officer. White continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

 

Mavis Sue Pontiff, 49, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 2, 2023, at 7:24 pm for theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of schedule II drugs. Bail was set at $105,000.

 

George Charles Oubre Jr., 57, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on September 1, 2023, at 10:50 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of battery of a dating partner.  Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Megan Elizabeth Hatcherson, 35, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 1, 2023, at 11:51 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting. Hatcherson was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Cameron Mitchell, 23, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 1, 2023, at 11:18 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting. Mitchell was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Byron Keith Wesley 25, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 2, 2023, at 7:42 pm for disturbing the peace by fighting and resisting arrest or officer (2 counts). Bail was set at $2,400.

 

Kye Michael Sanders, 23, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 2, 2023, at 11:03 pm for reckless operation-no accident, open container, and mufflers (modification of exhaust system). Sanders was released on a $1,250 bond.

 

Elvin Josue Calix-Guzman, 21, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 3, 2023, at 9:25 pm for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, and driver must be licensed. Calix-Guzman was released on a $3,000 bond.

 

Carlos Garcia, 19, Amelia, LA, was arrested on September 4, 2023, at 12:17 am for driving under the influence-underage, drag racing and racing on public roads-exemptions, and driver must be licensed. Garcia was released on a $2,000 bond.

 

Alejandro Ruiz, 45, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 4, 2023, at 1:34 am on the following charges:

• Failure to dim headlights
• Driving while intoxicated- 3rd offense
• Open container
• Driver must be licensed

Bail was set at $75,000.

 

Maranda Nicole Hampton, 30, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 4, 2023, at 3:41 pm on an Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office warrant for failure to appear on the charge of failure to register as a sex offender or child predator. Hampton is being held for another agency.

 

Steven Antoine Christopher, 35, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 4, 2023, at 11:14 pm for cruelty to animals. Bail was set at $1,500.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
