St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 27 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Joanie Marie Sanders, 42, Franklin, LA, was arrested on September 27, 2023, at 1:40 pm on the charge of issuing worthless checks. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Jason Daniel Smith, 40, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on September 27, 2023, at 10:29 am for violation of protective orders. Smith was released on a $5,000 bond.

 

Mark Broussard Jr., 33, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on September 28, 2023, at 4:38 am for criminal trespass and resisting arrest or officer. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
