St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 38 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Sirrice Thomas Johnson Jr., 50, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on October 17, 2023, at 11:27 am for battery-simple. Johnson continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

Gary Jones, 58, Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 17, 2023, at 11:27 am for battery-simple. Jones continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
