St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Alyssa Marie Acosta, 31, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 29, 2023, at 11:29 am for the following charges:

• Illegal possession of stolen firearms
• Possession of stolen things
• Resisting by force
• Criminal trespass

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Joel Michael Floyd II, 34, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on November 29, 2023, at 2:38 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of using crab traps without a license. Floyd was released on a summons to appear in court.

 

Mark Andrew Rentrop, Jr., 31, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on November 29, 2023, at 2:38 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple burglary. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
