St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 109 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Jawarski J. Jack, 29, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on January 26, 2024, at 3:23 pm for battery of a correctional officer. Jack continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

 

Ernest Mingo, 40, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 27, 2024, at 9:36 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:

• Possession of methamphetamine
• Possession of marijuana
• Disturbing the peace-intoxicated
• Possession of alprazolam

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Andre Luis Galarza, 41, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 27, 2024, at 12:51 pm for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal trespass.

On Saturday, January 27, 2024, a deputy made contact with a complainant who reported the theft of a side-by-side utility vehicle. The deputy opened an investigation into the incident. A short time later, deputies received a tip as to where the utility vehicle might be located.

A patrol deputy driving near the location observed a utility vehicle matching the description behind a residence in Franklin.

As the investigation progressed, deputies developed Galarza as the suspect in the theft, and the utility vehicle was recovered.

Galarza was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

 

Denniell Reiko-Leilani Daigle, 36, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 27, 2024, at 4:21 pm for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Joel Michael Floyd II, 35, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 27, 2024, at 6:14 pm for aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm or carrying of a concealed weapon by a person convicted of a felony. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Omar David Espinoza-Pacheco, 22, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 28, 2024, at 1:36 am for reckless operation-no accident and driving under suspension. Espinoza-Pacheco was released on a $1,500 bond.

 

Christopher Renard Hawkins, 56, Charenton, LA, was arrested on January 28, 2024, at 7:02 pm for assault-simple and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of marijuana and resisting an officer. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Brandi J'Rae Ingram, 26, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 28, 2024, at 8:17 pm on the following charges:

• Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling
• Battery-simple
• Disturbing the peace-intoxicated
• Resisting arrest or officer

Bail was set at $14,500.

 

Matthew Charles Pierce, 43, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on January 29, 2024, at 5:12 am for criminal damage to property-simple. Bail has not been set at this time.
