St. Mary Parish Sheriff Blaise Smith advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 34 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Dana Elaine Peters, 40, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 14, 2024, at 2:09 pm for failure to yield, no driver's license, and on a warrant for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family. Bail was set at $500.

 

Nancy Lee Duhe, 66, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on February 14, 2024, at 9:20 pm on the following charges:

• Driving on roadway laned for traffic
• Obstruction of public passage
• Open container
• Driving while intoxicated

Bail was set at $3,800.

 

 

NARCOTICS

David Burrell Jr., 39, Lafayette, LA, was arrested on February 14, 2024, at 8:21 pm on the following charges:

• Two headlights required
• Two taillights required
• Driving under suspension
• Possession of schedule I
• Resisting an officer

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

All persons arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
