St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 51 complaints and reports the following arrests:

 

Deshawn Jamall Sylvester, 26, Berwick, LA, was arrested on May 20, 2024, at 9:23 pm for battery of a correctional officer.  Sylvester continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

 

Donshea Ameche Amos, 36, Labadieville, LA, was arrested on May 20, 2024, at 9:15 am on two warrants for failure to appear for the following charges:

• Possession of a firearm or carrying concealed by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery
• Possession of schedule II CDS (Cocaine) with intent to distribute
• Possession of schedule I CDS (marijuana) with intent to distribute
• Disturbing the peace by fighting

Bail has not been set at this time. 

 

Tahjell Blackburn, 19, Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 18, 2024, at 7:47 pm for theft.  Blackburn was released on a $1,500 bond.
