Arrest Report- February 3, 2025

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 116 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Lanny Theriot, 85, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2025, at 6:05 pm on a warrant for simple kidnapping (attempted) and indecent behavior with juvenile(s) (attempted).
On January 26, 2025, deputies responded to a complaint of a possible simple kidnapping. The complainant advised that his child was at an event in a public park with friends when the incident occurred. The juvenile said they were called over to a vehicle by a man waving money to them. The juvenile gave a description of the vehicle and the man.
Detectives followed up on the complaint, obtaining video footage and opening an investigation. Through the investigation, Theriot was identified as the suspect.
On February 2, 2025, Detectives received a second complaint and made contact with Theriot. During questioning, Theriot made statements that he intended to get the juvenile in the car for lewd behavior with the juvenile. Detectives obtained a warrant for Theriot's arrest and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.
Russell Glenn Eary, 61, Franklin, LA, was arrested on January 31, 2025, at 4:41 pm for terrorizing.
On January 29, 2025, a deputy was dispatched to a local business in Bayou Vista in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with the business owner who stated that a man threatened him.
The business owner stated that the man had a disagreement with the business owner at made threats when he was asked to leave the establishment. After making the threats, he exited the business. The deputy reviewed camera footage and established the identity of the man as Eary.
The deputy obtained a warrant for Eary for the charge of terrorizing. Contact was made with Eary and he was informed that he is not to return to the business and was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Eary was released on a $10,000 bond.
Kimla F. Smith, 62, Centerville, LA, was arrested on January 31, 2025, at 4:18 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charges of truant and failure to appear as a witness. Smith was released on her own recognizance.
Jason Jermaine Matthews, 43, Amelia, LA, was arrested on February 1, 2025, at 8:26 am on a warrant for failure to appear. Matthews continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
Delbert Keith Madise Jr., 49, Patterson, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2025, at 11:40 pm for theft. Bail was set at $1,500.
Leyla Edith Morales Guerrero, 37, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2025, at 8:49 pm for cyberstalking/electronic mail and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Bail has not been set at this time.
Ty Quang Thai, 54, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on February 2, 2025, at 9:47 pm on two warrants for failure to appear on the charge of domestic abuse battery. Bail has not been set at this time.
