Arrest Report- February 6, 2025

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 54 complaints and reports the following arrests:

John Allen Polk, 46, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on February 6, 2025, at 1:57 am on a warrant for failure to appear. Polk continues to be incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

 

Rory Ched Landry, 43, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2025, at 4:30 pm on two warrants for the following charges:

  • Improper lane usage
  • possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • possession of methamphetamine
  • prohibited acts

Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Anthony Lee Wells, 72, Franklin, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2025, at 12:40 pm on a warrant for failure to appear. Bail was set at $25,000.

 

NARCOTICS SECTION

Devontre Phillips, 24, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2025, at 1:24 pm on the following charges:

  • possession of a machine gun
  • possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
  • illegal carrying of weapons in the presence of a CDS
  • illegal possession of stolen firearms
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Christian Barard, 26, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2025, at 1:24 pm on the following charges:

  • view outward or inward through windshield or window
  • possession of schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids)
  • possession of schedule IV (alprazolam)
  • resisting an officer

Dontrell Colbert, 28, Baldwin, LA, was arrested on February 5, 2025, at 1:24 pm for possession of marijuana, introducing contraband into a penal institution, and on a warrant for failure to appear for the charge of theft.


On February 5, 2025, Narcotics detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and made contact with the driver, identified as Christian Barard, and two passengers, identified as Devontre Phillips and Dontrell Colbert.

Detectives found Phillips to be concealing a firearm on his person. The firearm was reported stolen and had been equipped with a "Glock switch," which makes the Glock a machine gun.


Additionally, drugs were found in Barard, Colbert, and Phillips' possession. The three men were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.
