St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 37 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Gordon Chris Helman, 56, Patterson, LA, was arrested on April 24, 2026, at 7:53 am on the following charges:
- Switched license plates/stolen license plate
- Driving under suspension
- No seat belt
- Resisting arrest or officer
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of schedule II drugs
Bail has not been set at this time.
Terri L. Helman, 44, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on April 24, 2026, at 7:53 am for possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.
Ariel Cheyenne Wright, 27, Wilmer, AL, was arrested on April 23, 2026, at 8:42 pm on a warrant out of Pascagoula, MS, for the charge of burglary. Wright is being held for another agency.
Ashala Shanay Bowie, 39, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on April 23, 2026, at 10:53 pm on the following charges:
- Resisting an officer by flight
- Resisting arrest or officer
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of marijuana
- Maximum speed limit
Bail has not been set at this time.
Odie Marie Nadar, 43, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on April 24, 2026, at 1:27 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Possession of schedule II CDS (Meth) with intent to distribute
- Possession of schedule IV CDS (Clonazepam)
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of schedule II CDS
Bail has not been set at this time.
Robert Paul Stansbury, 42, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on April 24, 2026, at 1:00 am for protective order, criminal trespass, and emanation of excessive sound. Stansbury also held a warrant for failure to appear for theft, resisting an officer, unlawful operation of an off-road vehicle, and burnt tail light. Bail has not been set at this time.
