St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 56 complaints and reports the following arrests:

𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝟐𝟎, Bourg, LA, was arrested on May 13, 2026, at 8:25 am for child sexual abuse material (2 counts) and sexual abuse of an animal (7 counts).

On January 3, 2026, a patrol deputy was to a residence in Bayou Vista in response to a complaint of a person corresponding in an indecent manner to a juvenile through a device (phone). The deputy took the initial complaint and opened an investigation into the incident. 

With the assistance of SMPSO detectives, the suspect was subsequently identified as Rodrigue, and a warrant was obtained for his arrest on the charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

On May 11, 2026, a transportation deputy made contact with Rodrigue at another agency and transported him to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking.

As the investigation progressed, detectives found digital files on a device belonging to Rodrigue.  A second warrant was obtained for the additional charges of child sexual abuse material (2 counts) and sexual abuse of an animal (7 counts). Rodrigue was charged with the additional charges and remains incarcerated at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Bond has not been set on the additional charges at this time.
