St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 96-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 216 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jessica Lynn Deshotels, 43, Schriever, LA, was arrested on May 15, 2026, at 4:16 pm for theft. Deshotels was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Wilson Rangel Velasquez, 40, Youngsville, LA, was arrested on May 15, 2026, at 8:49 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery. Velasquez was released on a $350 bond.

 

Ricky L. Champagne Jr., 19, Jeanerette, LA, was arrested on May 16, 2026, at 5:48 am for domestic abuse battery by strangulation and battery of a dating partner. Bail was set at $15,000.

 

Bobby Gaylord Bolden, 36, Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 18, 2026, at 8:01 am for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail has not been set at this time.

 

Brett Jordan Akin, 28, New Iberia, LA, was arrested on May 18, 2026, at 3:13 pm for reckless operation-no accident, operating a vehicle under suspension, and driving while intoxicated. Bail was set at $4,000.

 

Kristin Alexis Sanders, 35, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on May 18, 2026, at 2:23 pm for disturbing the peace by language and interference with a law enforcement investigation. Sanders was released on a $3,500 bond.

 

Cristina Maria Soto, 46, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on May 17, 2026, at 10:39 am on the following charges: 

  • Possession of schedule II drugs
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession of marijuana
  • No seat belt. 

Bail was set at $4,600.

 

Louis David Topham III, 50, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on May 17, 2026, at 1:05 pm for possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $3,000.

 

Cody Paul Thibodaux, 35, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on May 17, 2026, at 6:58 pm on the following charges:

  • Resisting arrest and officer
  • Assault-simple
  • Terrorizing
  • Threatening a public official
  • Failure to appear warrant for non-support

Bail was set at $123,213.
