St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 72-hour reporting period, the Sheriff's Office responded to 134 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Kevin Renan Vargas Aguilera, 20, was arrested on November 21, 2025, at 12:24 pm on two warrants for the following charges: 

  • Simple kidnapping
  • Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling
  • Simple criminal damage to property
  • Indecent behavior with a juvenile

On November 17, 2025, a detective was dispatched to a residence in Amelia for a possible kidnapping.  Upon arrival, the detective learned that the upon returning home, the complainant had discovered a male subject in the complainant's home with the complainant's juvenile daughter. 

After a confrontation, the male left the residence and took the juvenile with him. Through the investigation, the detective established male subject was Kevin Vargas-Aguilera. 

Information was provided to the Louisiana State Police, who released a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory. 

The SMPSO continued to investigate the incident and attempted to locate Vargas-Aguilera. Subsequently, he was located on November 18, 2025, in Texas.  The juvenile was found safe, and Vargas-Aguilera was arrested and extradited to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail was set at $44,000.

Sheriff Gary Driskell and the Investigations Division of the SMPSO would like to thank the Louisiana State Police, Berwick Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Lufkin Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.

 

Dung H. Cenac, 28, Berwick, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2025, at 8:57 pm for criminal trespass and on a warrant for failure to appear for theft. Bail was set at $4,000.

Marcos Javier Centeno Blanco, 24, Amelia, LA, was arrested on November 23, 2025, at 4:38 am for domestic abuse child endangerment law and aggravated assault. Bail was set at $17,500.
